John McIntyre Conference CentreThe John McIntyre Conference Centre is located within the University of Edinburghs campus, approximately 1¼ miles (2km) southeast of the centre of Edinburgh. To walk from the city centre to the venue will take approximately 20 minutes. The venue is located on the edge of Holyrood Park, at the foot of Arthurs Seat – the highest point in Edinburgh is at the centre of the park, with the cliffs of Salisbury Crags to the west. The venue is adjacent to Holyrood Park, a public park with volcanic cliff faces, mini lochs, and ruins of a 15th century chapel. The centrepiece of the park, Arthur's Seat, resembles a reclining lion and offers a steep but rewarding half-hour climb from which excellent views can be gained of the city of Edinburgh and beyond.
