Transportation
If you come to Barcelona by plane, you'll get to the Josep Tarradellas airport. The Barcelona airport has two terminals, with the following options:
- If you arrived to Terminal 1 (T1) ...
- you can walk 3 min. to take the A1 bus towards Pl. Catalunya - Andana Central (to the city center) and stop at Pl. Espanya (20 min. direct bus with no stops). Then, walk 1 min. to the metro station and use the L3 line towards Zona Universitària and stop at Palau Reial. There is a 10 min. walk from there to the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC).
- or you can walk 10 min. to take the L9S metro towards Zona Universitària and stop at Zona Universitària. Then you'll have a 15 min. walk to BSC.
- If you arrived to Terminal 2 (T2) ...
- you can walk 1 min. to take the A2 bus towards Pl. Catalunya - Fontanella (to the city center) and stop at Pl. Espanya (20 min bus with 2 stops). Then, walk 1 min. to the metro station and use the L3 line towards Zona Universitària and stop at Palau Reial. There is a 10 min. walk from there to BSC.
- or you can walk 8 min. to take the L9S metro towards Zona Universitària and stop at Zona Universitària. Then you'll have a 15 min. walk to BSC.
Aerobus tickets (A1, A2) can be bought online or in self-service machines at the airport. Check out prices (starting at 6,75EUR) and buy tickets in the Aerobus website.
Metro tickets (L9S) can be bought in the metro ticket vending machines. Check out prices (airport ticket at 5,50EUR) in the TMB website.
Both terminals offer also very efficient mechanisms to get a taxi. The taxi ride from the airport to BSC should cost around 35EUR and takes approximately 30 minutes depending on traffic.If you come to Barcelona by train, you'll most likely arrive to Barcelona Sants train station. If that is the case, you'll find the metro L3 in the same station. Take the metro towards Zona Universitària and stop at Palau Reial. There is a 10 min. walk from there to BSC.
