Montreux is situated on the shores of the Lac Léman - Lake Geneva- in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, less than 40 km from Lausanne. Surrounded by mountains, protected from cold winds, and with palms and other exotic trees and plants lining its shores, Montreux is known as the "Pearl of the Swiss Riviera".

Geneva is the nearest airport. Direct trains to Montreux depart every hour from the train station within the airport. Travel time is approximately one hour. Montreux can also be reached by train from Zürich International Airport in about 3 hours.
